Details worth exploring
Which rooms and floors would you like to reach more easily?
Consider doorways, approach space and getting in and out.
Equipment is one part of the decision. Understand preparation and ongoing care too.
Eclipse does not require a separate machine room, but it still needs a hoistway and a location for its remote controller. Ask to see both on the proposed plan before comparing the space it will use.
The manufacturer lists one entrance as standard, with a second entrance available in straight-through or right-angle arrangements. Discuss doors, approach space and the route you will take at every landing.
Bring the floors you want to reach, how you move around today, and any mobility-device measurements. Include anyone who will help you use the elevator. A floor plan and photos can help start the conversation; they do not replace an assessment.
Ask for equipment, building preparation, electrical work, permits, finishing and the installation schedule to be itemized. Confirm who handles each part and how the work affects access to your home.
Check the selected cab, doorway, approach and turning arrangement against the actual device and assistance needed. A weight rating alone does not establish that a person can enter, ride and exit comfortably.
Request the operating manual, maintenance schedule, warranty terms and service contact in writing. Ask how an interruption will be handled and who to call; do not assume every maintenance or service item is included in the equipment price.
